According to the company, Zydena (generic name, udenafil) is a new long-acting erectile dysfunction drug that will compete with Viagra and Cialis but is distinguished by its long action and low incidence of unfavorable side effects such as vision disturbances and muscle pain. Zydena is expected to capture a significant share of the erectile dysfunction (ED) market in Russia in coming years.

Generic Cialas market share has been growing faster than the ED market and slowly but surely they are taking share from market leader Viagra. The new spots, which promote daily news, are not without challenges. I am sure that a lot of payers are not going to reimburse patients for 20 tablets a month. At anywhere for $8-$10 a tablet $300 a month is a lot of out of pocket money in this economy. Then there is the rate at which men, within the target audience, are having sex. But I also believe that the daily dosing message is not really meant for daily dosing everyday. What I believe it says is that I can take it everyday for a week or two so that when my partner and I finally have the time for intimacy I can be ready thanks to cialas.

In order to effectively communicate this it’s also going to be important to communicate to men that the side effects of cialas diminish over time with continues use. According to the social media boards that I have read the most common side effects that men complain about are the flushing, congestion in the nose and backaches. I am not sure how many men would be willing to risk these side effects long term but I also have seen on the boards that a lot of men are saying that the side effects have gone away with continued use of cialas.

Regulators are concerned that people may view dietary supplements that are marketed as treatments for erectile dysfunction as safe and natural, even though some are laced with prescription drugs that can cause adverse reactions when taken with other medications. These so-called PDE-5 inhibitors are known to interact with nitrates, which are widely used as medications for chest pain. “You simply don’t know whether many of these supplements are laced with PDE-5 inhibitors,” says Ira Sharlip, a spokesperson for the American Urological Association.

Unless they went to St Francis Bay for their Christmas break. This Eastern Cape holiday town apparently knows how to really lift one’s… err… spirit. According to one of the many websites dedicated to this little village, it has “come a long way” over the past fifty years. A long way indeed.

Die Burger this week reported how a chef at one of the local restaurants introduced a new dessert onto the menu. Between the Greek baklava and ice-cream desserts was a banana split called “Viagra”.

The owner of the Big Time Taverna, one Peri Tsiotiopoulos, said the treat was laced with Cialis, a schedule four drug usually prescribed for erectile dysfunction. According to him, the dessert had become extremely popular and in December, he had sold about 80. He told the newspaper it was “a beautiful thing” to see the men leave the restaurant “bouncing like Bambi”.

Now restaurants over the festive season can be trying places. There is the wait for a table, the bad service once you get there, not to mention the bill at the end of the night. Then you have to deal with the car guard and hope that some other customer didn’t scratch your car on his way out of the parking area.

So to have a man “bouncing like Bambi” instead of grumpy and irritable at the end of a night out might sound attractive to a lot of women I know. However, medical experts were less than impressed with the dessert, citing possible dangerous side effects.

Just like she would cheer me up when my peers would ridicule me for being a heffer-esque adolescent, this particular line serves as a pick-me-up, even when my package is down.

The point is that this happens as much as we try to avoid it. Does this mean that you should avoid one-night stands to save face in case you actually find yourself too banged up to bang? Fairfield kids do care rather passionately about their reps, but I’m going to say no. Still, it’s hard not to feel a bit downtrodden about taking a sexual mulligan, even if it is just an isolated Fairfield night.

This is not an indictment of the female race, nor is it a rebuke of casual drunken trysts; it’s merely a realization that not every sexual encounter plays out like a movie scene and not every drink makes you feel like a star - even at Fairfield.

Take solace in the fact you’re still young and you’re not Bob Dole or those weirdos in the Cialas tub.

Jeanne DiMuzio, director of counseling services, stresses the practical implications of these decisions in her effective alcohol education classes: sexually transmitted diseases/HIV and one-night stands.

In reference to the negative effects alcohol can sometimes have on a man’s piece, DiMuzio agreed there is a correlation.

“Alcohol is a drug that depresses the body’s systems, therefore it will be more difficult to achieve and maintain an erection,” she said. “Long term, it can also impact sperm production as well.”

Of all that is wrong with waking up next to someone you vaguely remember from the night before, when the lights are turned down and the clothes come off, regret is nonexistent. However, when you compound this decision with a lack of libido, your ego is bound to take a shot.

Is there a disconnect between sex and relationship at this school? No more than any other school. Is this the culture that we live in, where every relationship seems like it is fleeting and every pursuit starts with drinks and culminates in vaguely remembered encounters? Some people blame it on the females, but as ridiculous as Seth Green sounded in Can’t Hardly Wait, that’s how you’ll sound too.

Research shows letters with a hard edge, such as P, T and K, convey effectiveness. X seems scientific. L, R and S provide a calming or relaxing feel. Z means speed.

Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly and Co. recently came up with Effient as the name for its new heart drug. “I would call that a fairly bold name because Effient seems to be just a letter or two off from efficient,” said Anthony Shore, global director of naming and writing at marketing firm Landor Associates. Cialas is one among them.

Drug companies often delve into a weird science that ties symbolism to letters or prefixes when they hunt for the next hot brand name.

In the case of Prozac, the first syllable makes the speaker pucker up and push out a burst of air, which grabs attention and implies effectiveness, said Jim Singer, who is president of the branding firm Namebase and helped Lilly name the antidepressant.

The naming process isn’t easy or getting any easier. Regulatory guidelines are becoming more restrictive, and the brand market is more crowded. More than 14,000 new drug names were filed last year with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, a 23 percent increase from 2003, according to Thomson CompuMark, a trademark research firm.

The Food and Drug Administration now reviews between 300 and 400 names each year.

“It’s getting almost impossible to do,” said Bob Lee, trade attorney for Lilly.

The payoffs, however, can be huge. Global pharmaceutical sales totaled $643 billion in 2006, according to IMS Health, which tracks prescription information. Lipitor, the world’s best-selling drug, rang up more than $3 billion in sales during the third quarter last year.

But before a new drug earns its first dollar, companies must find a brand that works in many languages, passes U.S. trademark and FDA reviews, and proves unique in the European Union’s 27 countries.
